Mr. Carl Dickey was born on December 9, 1931, in Stone County, Mississippi, to the union of Mr. John Dickey and Mrs. Sincerella Fairly Dickey. He was predeceased by his parents, spouse Aster Miller Dickey, and eldest son Michael Dickey, whose memory he cherished until the end.
A virtuous and soft-spoken man with many accomplishments, Carl led a life of demonstrating goodness through action. Carl was the personification of cheerfulness, thoughtfulness, and supreme consideration of others. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and joy, and his legacy continues to resonate amongst the many lives he touched.
Carl, throughout his life, exhibited a strong commitment to his tasks, always following through on what he said he would do. This mentality of following through made Carl a person whom many depended on. This principle of his not only shaped him as a person but also served as a valuable lesson to those around him.
Among Mr. Carl Dickey's many accomplishments was a distinguished military career, during which he served with honor and dedication. He played a significant role in the construction of bridges in Saint Louis and Missouri, showcasing his exceptional skills and indirectly (and invisibly) touching the lives of people who use many of the state-wide bridges. Above all, his greatest achievement was the joyous impact he had on the acquaintances, friends, and family whose lives he touched with his kindness and cheerfulness.
He passed away on May 6, 2026, in Mercy South Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. Mr. Carl Dickey leaves behind a strong and loving family. He survived by his step-daughters, Janet Austell and Deborah Shelby, and his son, Demetrius Dickey, all of whom loved him dearly. Carl was a living example of joy and kindness, and his life stands as a testament to these values. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led. His memory and legacy will act as an inspiration and guide to the many lives he touched.
